The three most important success factors in digital learning

Success factor #1

SIMPLICITY

Problem: Unclear, overly complex and slow technologies are the main reasons for a lack of acceptance when it comes to digital learning.

How LXT can help you:

  • The best form of user experience: simplicity.
  • Your learners are able to access all their learning formats in one place with 100% consistency in operation: meaning no more technology troubles or confusion.
  • 100% compatible with every smartphone and tablet with exactly the same user interface, meaning no differences between mobile & desktop versions.
  • We check our application annually in our Usability Lab to ensure your learners have the best possible user experience.

Success factor #2

PERSONALISATION

Problem: E-learning that doesn't address the learner's prior knowledge can feel like a waste of time. A 'one-size-fits-all' approach is outdated.

How LXT can help you:

  • Thanks to adaptive e-learning, we are able to identify what learner already knows and reduce their learning time to reflect the actual gaps in their knowledge.
  • We enable the learner to have a high degree of self-determination when it comes to how they want to engage with the content.
  • The learner can ask their individual questions directly as part of the learning process and experts are able to answer with a single click.

Success factor #3

LEARNING SCENARIOS

Problem: Individual measures do not result in integrated engagement with the content in the learner's day-to-day life, meaning that learning has not been successful.

The following learning scenarios increase the implementation rate in everyday life.

  • Learning on Demand – the most important learning scenario of the future: learning at the so-called 'moment of need'.
  • Social Learning – via our Social Expert Channel, the learner is able to ask experts questions as part of the learning process.
  • Performance Support & Workplace Learning – bringing knowledge to where the question arises.
  • Transfer Campaigns – to increase sustainability, learners are supported at regular intervals.

What do our customers say?

Julia Jäger, eprimo GmbH: With LXT, we are able to create and adapt our learning content quickly and easily on our own and distribute it to our employees across our various locations. This saves us valuable time and ensures everyone is up to date with just a few clicks. Thanks to the many different design options offered by the tool, we are able to make even the most difficult theoretical topics easy to understand.

Martin Winkler, BSH Hausgeräte GmbH: With LXT, we have a system in place that satisfies the complexity of our needs while also being intuitive & easy to use. Sometimes less is more when the right things are done well. This is the case here. With the two tools (Authoring and Engagement) combined, we have an intuitive authoring tool and user-centric runtime environment all in one – I’m not sure what we’d do without it now.

Nadine Tück, Grohe AG: The tool from the Bildungsinnovator is incredibly intuitive and impresses with its simplicity. Creating a beautiful and structured training is done based on a modular principle, meaning it is possible to ‘cobble together’ a well-structured and readable page in just a few minutes. At the same time, the functions are by no means restrictive and you can get as creative as you like with it. The translation process is also very simple. We produce almost all our courses in as many as 10 languages and are able to integrate them quickly and easily without having to adapt each text field.

A smart tool is, unfortunately, not all you need to be successful. Take advantage of the largest range of free e-learning resources available.

Sometimes we fall in love with a tool and think problem solved. However, we know from experience that tool competence is not the same thing as concept competence. In other words, just because you know how to use Word, it doesn’t mean you know how to write a good marketing letter. And that’s exactly how it is with e-learning concepts too.

That’s why we have built up the largest collection of training materials for e-learning authors on the market. As an authoring tool customer, you will benefit from this free of charge.

Lernlust

Why struggle to learn when you can use fun to make it easier? Our two learning experts, Tom Freudenthal and Dirk Rosomm, will show you how we, as adults, can find our way back to a childlike love of learning. Which is exactly what is needed for confident and highly effective learning.

Included free of charge with the authoring tool.

Didaktik Architekt

In many companies, there are often people who are eager to develop and evaluate concepts – they just don’t have the didactic know-how to do it.

This book makes didactic design easier for you – and protects your learners from low-quality learning products. You will learn to build effective learning formats that bring real learning success.

Included free of charge with the authoring tool.

Frequently asked customer questions

The question

Our answer

Do I still need an LMS when using LXT?
Not necessarily. Around 200 clients use only LXT, without having an LMS.
Can I use LXT even though I have an LMS?
Of course. LXT is quite often used as a supplement to an LMS. We then ensure that the learning levels, etc., are synchronised across both systems. In this way, you are able to make the most of the advantages of both options.
How many languages are supported by LXT?
All languages. The only restriction: languages that read from right to left.
Who can I turn to if I have any problems?
We offer first-class support with a high response rate and are, of course, based in Germany ;-)

Ensure acceptance.

1. Simplicity first and foremost

Our interfaces are as simple as possible. Our Usability Lab is responsible for simplifying and minimising the number of functions. After all, unclear and excessively complicated technologies are one of the main reasons for a lack of acceptance among learners.

2. Speed is key

No one likes prolonged waiting or frequent clicking. And nothing decreases acceptance among busy learners more than a loading icon! Speed is, therefore, an important indicator of quality in the hectic everyday life of learners.

3. A focus on the learning experience

LX Design is the sister of UX Design: Fundamentally, we want to facilitate a positive learner experience across all touchpoints.

4. Personalisation instead of the one-size-fits-all approach

Enough with standardisation! We respect our learner’s time as an exceptionally valuable asset. Using adaptive e-learning, we look to identify the learner’s current knowledge level and adapt their learning needs to the specific gaps in their knowledge.

5. Greater autonomy for the learner

External decision making reduces acceptance. We enable learners to decide for themselves how they want to work through the content.

6. No motivation without need

Direct feedback helps to keep quality consistently high and surveys ensure that we identify relevance at an early stage. The aim is to get close to the learner and identify their needs at an early stage. Meeting the learner’s needs is the key to acceptance.

7. Activation through transparency

A fundamental principle of engagement design is having a clear overview: Where are you at? What have you already achieved? How much longer do you need?

8. Onboarding reduces uncertainty

Introducing a new learning tool to learners without proper instruction can lead to resistance and rejection. Good onboarding, on the other hand, allows for a smooth start. After all, looking after your learners is essential for acceptance.

Increase interaction with learning scenarios.

1. E-Learning

E-Learning – the most widely used learning scenario within digital learning. Ideally suited to smaller training modules or as part of a blended learning journey.

2. Learning on Demand

The most important training concept of the future – learning in the ‘moment of need’ – made possible through digital learning. Fixed learning formats can no longer satisfy the diversity of people’s needs, neither in terms of timing nor depth.

3. Social Learning

Learn faster with experts. Using our Social Expert Channel, learners are able to ask experts questions as part of the learning process. Responses are given via text or in a voice or video recording. In this way, those with knowledge and those seeking it can be connected both quickly and easily.

4. Performance Support & Workplace Learning

Taking knowledge to where the question originates. At its core, this is about making learning an integral part of day-to-day work. Whether via a QR code at the POS or on the production floor, whether integrated into software systems or as an ‘instant app’ for managers and others. Greater relevance, convenience and saving time are the main focus.

5. Transfer App

Ultimately, what matters is that knowledge is established in everyday life. To increase sustainability, learners need to be supported. With intelligent time management, you ensure the continuous activation of your learners and, at the same time, reduce the amount of work needed from you. The focus is on increasing the learner’s motivation to act.

6. Learning Library

Good learning content can be found in many places. We bring all these valuable sources together. With our Learning Nuggets, you are able to offer learners a rich variety of books, articles, videos, podcasts, webinars and seminars.

Protect your data.

1. GDPR compliant

It goes without saying that our systems are fully compliant with current GDPR regulations. All our contracts are standardised to ensure that your coordination with your IT and legal departments runs as smoothly as possible.

2. German SaaS solution

We are a German company and host in Germany. This means that all data is protected against the United States CLOUD Act. At the same time, it also reduces the amount of work involved in contracts.

3. Permissions management

You are able to assign reading and editing rights individually. This allows you to provide target group-oriented learning opportunities.

4. Reportings

You can use the dashboard to track activity and then derive targeted measures. With detailed reporting, you are able to dive deeper and develop additional ideas on the basis of the data obtained.

5. No IT support required

LXT is entirely web-based. There is no need for installation or the use of a specific type of browser. This means that bottlenecks within the IT department are avoided to the greatest extent possible.
